BHSc (Occupational Therapy)

Brierley graduated from the Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Science in Occupational Therapy in 2000. Brierley gained her early years of experience in hand therapy on the advanced rotation at Middlemore Hospital. From there, she and her husband moved to London to go travelling, which turned into six years of varied work in large teaching hospitals and private companies around London. Brierley’s passion has been around trauma and she has specialised in Burns, Spinal Rehab, Paediatrics and Hand Therapy.

At the end of 2010, Brierley returned to New Zealand and returned to Middlemore Hospital as Section Head therapist of Occupational and Physiotherapy for Burns, Plastics and Paediatrics. Brierley is a competent experienced splint maker. Brierley completed the Hand and Upper Limb Therapy module at AUT in 2011 and completed her post graduate certificate following that. Brierley jumped at the opportunity to join Hands On Rehabilitation in November 2011, and is working as a Hand Therapist as well as Occupational Therapist for graduated return to work programmes and workplace assessments from our Hibiscus Coast clinic.
